There is something magical about the quality of the photos taken on my friend's camera. My friend, who is a real Canon freak, came by to my chateau to stay for the weekend. He also brought his camera and a desire to break me of my stubborn belief that my camera is fine. Let me just tell you... a good camera makes ALL the difference in the world!<br />
<br />
Take for instance this picture of my latest cake... the BATMOBILE! Yeah, that's right, the batmobile! Pretty rocking cake eh? Or at least, I thought so! But the crisp image and sweet fade made me cringe at my old camera... Let's just say a lot of colour balance and fading goes into photoshop. SIGH!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Birthday/bat02_zps04b5ec7c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="463" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Birthday/bat02_zps04b5ec7c.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The ability to have the image iso and resolution pick up the sharpness of detail, but fade to the back in blur was super simple! How did I ever live without it?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Birthday/bat01_zps396b3e90.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Birthday/bat01_zps396b3e90.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
This particular cake, if you were wondering, was made for my friend's son's birthday. The special request was painstakingly carved, covered in Satin Ice fondant, and lovingly decorated to look as close to the old BMB as possible! My friend even got some action shots!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Birthday/at05_zpsc3c9ef8c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="470" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Birthday/at05_zpsc3c9ef8c.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
And of course, he let me play... which is how I came to fall in love.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Birthday/bat03_zps087f3c55.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="444" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Birthday/bat03_zps087f3c55.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<img border="0" height="366" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Birthday/bat04_zpsd2a817d5.jpg" width="640" /><br />
<br />
This cake was super fun, and very rewarding to do! I was super happy with the final product, as was the birthday boy. Now, all I have to do is give up my fight and just go buy a new camera! It is a hard thing to part with a close friend!<br />
<br />
Thanks for the inspiration Neil!Meghan @ Domestic Sugarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04243408906043960834noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3453524466675808335.post-1862938010618678232013-04-20T13:32:00.002-05:002013-04-20T13:33:14.344-05:00Minecraft - Math is a skill...... I am going to admit it here... I am bad at math. Which would have been not a problem, except that I am doing a cake that requires me to calculate the exact width and height needed to precisely make squares to cover a cake that is a square.<br />
That is why I painstakingly made squares of the exact height and width I thought I would need to have a perfectly square, perfectly exact cube cake for a Minecraft cake... except, when I cut out the extra square to make the third layer.... I goofed and did not cut it on the right size.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/mine03_zps75db3f35.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/mine03_zps75db3f35.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Even though my math skills were not exact, I still think the cake turned out well! (The little boy who got the cake simply kept saying "That's awesome! That's awesome!" So I guess it can't be all bad.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/mine04_zps8e4750b0.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/mine04_zps8e4750b0.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
As I was working on this cake, I kept telling myself... next time I paint the squares, next time I do only one block... next time I will try not to be as creative. I don't know if I could. This cake was a HUGE challenge!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/mine01_zps730f584d.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/mine01_zps730f584d.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I guess that is all I have to say. I am not exactly super happy with the cake, but it was a learning curve! NEXT TIME MATH! I WILL WIN!<br />
<br />

DON'T EVER FORGET YOUR CAMERA!<br />
<br />
My friend, who recently had a baby, threw a wonderful baby shower. Of course, I insisted on bringing the cake! I stayed up all night making a gorgeous shower cake, complete with baby-pink-zebera stripes inside! I was thrilled with the final product and brought it to my friend's house, set it up and went for my camera.... not there.<br />
I checked in my car, not there either....<br />
I looked again in my supply bag.... not there.<br />
<br />
Realizing I had made the most horrid mistake of forgetting my camera at a baby shower (where I still had not taken a photo of the cake), I began to ask around for a camera. Surely someone would have brought one. NOPE! The proud momma didn't... the proud papa didn't, and neither did the new grandma. WHAT IS GOING ON?!<br />
<br />
In a panic, I began to wonder what to do. My only option was to find a camera. One of my friend's friends (who traveled from Winnipeg) offered hers, and I proceeded to take many lovely photos of the various parts of the cake, making sure to check balance and colour... her camera was awesome! Long story short, she never sent me the pictures.<br />
<br />
In a scramble, my friend and I were able to come up with a few photos. I got lucky! Let that be a lesson to me! Don't forget your camera!!!!<br />
<br />
So the cake:<br />
Vanilla Fluff cake with pink-zebra patterned insides and pink vanilla buttercream. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/bea02_zps9529c87e.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/bea02_zps9529c87e.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Though it is not the best photo, the barrel for the baby bath was awesome! I individually cut each 'panel' of the barrel and pock-marked the fondant , then brushed on the wood grain. I added a strip of black fondant, then added in the 'screws'. This photo, of course, does not do it justice!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/bea01_zpsd152d098.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/bea01_zpsd152d098.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
And of course, the baby in the bath is playing with her duckies. The water was awesome! stiff buttercream to make it look like moving bath water, and buttercream bubbles!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/bea03_zps51381d2c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/bea03_zps51381d2c.jpg" width="459" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I now know that I need to be more cautious in the future! I am more upset that I got no good photos of baby Bea, who slept on my lap the entire shower! <br />
<br />

The hype of the Fifty Shades series had a lot of women (and secretly, men) whispering in dark corners. The story of how a normal female reporter gets swept into a dark secret world of passion captured audiences around the world. <br />
<br />
Now, I read the series, and was not at all embarrassed to admit it... and I thought, while not well written, to be fun and entertaining (she says about a 'dirty book).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/shades02_zps91d48ab1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/shades02_zps91d48ab1.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
I know of at least one person who refused to read the books on anything
but a Kobo for fear of being caught reading 'dirty books.' How dirty can
a series be if seemingly the whole world is speaking about it? How can
people, knowing that many of their friends have read it, be ashamed of
reading the series? This paradox had me chuckling. Of course a book with this hype would certainly garner more readers. Additionally, the movie, set to come out some time in the future, released the name of Christian as Ryan Gosling (really?). <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/shades03_zps88284481.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/shades03_zps88284481.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Fun Fact: Did you know that the Fifty Shades series started out as a Twilight fan fiction story (using Bella and Edward as the characters Anna and Christian)? Hmmm.... try to imagine the story now? It seems strange to me!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/shades04_zpscdc4e484.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/shades04_zpscdc4e484.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Okay, so this post has been less about the cake above, and more about the thoughts on the book/movie. Sorry... it is just that when I think about the book, I find it hard to picture a movie being made of it. The subject matter would make the movie too risque to put into theaters, meaning they will have to dull it down, which I think defeats all the fun of the books. I mean, we are talking about a book made to entertain adult audiences with its different content (not at all like a Harlequin Romance book).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/shades05_zpsfa17c56f.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/shades05_zpsfa17c56f.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
But who would not like to see the embodiment of Christian Grey swooning over Anastasia? Really? Super fun (and completely superficial) story-lines are super fun to read/watch... or will it be? Can they actually take the content of the book (beyond the crazy romance which is quite messed up) and make it into a good story? (Wow, I am using a lot of brackets today!)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/shades01_zpsa698cfde.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/shades01_zpsa698cfde.jpg" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Anyway... here it was, a chocolate fudge cake with chocolate fudge icing, topped with MMF, decorated to look like Christian Grey's lovely chest! Made as a Bachelorette cake. Hope you enjoyed the rant :) <br />

Things are always so nicely arranged, placed and the colours and textures simply shine. I have a harder time making nice photos. Having just moved to a new home (and out of a closed apartment with bad lighting), I assumed my photography would improve with better lighting and more space to stage my photos. Alas, I still find that is not the case. So.... I am officially blaming my camera. Sure, I need to do more staging, but my camera (as my friend pointed out) is more of an outdoor natural light camera, and does poorly indoors. Also it is about 7 years old... hmmm...<br />
<br />
This week, I decided to play with the lighting outside and see if it made a difference, And it did! The colours were more vibrant and the cookies had much better shades. The only problem was that I had shadows.... which I will have to work on. here are some of the shots:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/stp05_zpsbd6c5b22.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/stp05_zpsbd6c5b22.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/stp04_zps2b3ffe58.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/stp04_zps2b3ffe58.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
It was only when I focused on the north side of the cookies that the shadows got bad to the point that they drew attention away from the cookies...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/stp03_zpsf289247e.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/stp03_zpsf289247e.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Additionally, square-on photos suffered from shadow..<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/stp02_zps943d4838.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/stp02_zps943d4838.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
And side-photos took away from the cookie...<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/stp01_zpsaf009828.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/stp01_zpsaf009828.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Again, playing with outdoor light did help. I guess I have a lot more to do. These cookies in particular were more of an experiment in photography.... again because of Lilaloa's challenge, but also because I really want to step up my photography; what use is it to not have good pictures?<br />
<br />
<img alt="post signature" class="centered" src="http://i906.photobucket.com/albums/ac263/domesticsugar/signature-1.gif" />Meghan @ Domestic Sugarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04243408906043960834noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3453524466675808335.post-30855853720789154742013-03-09T15:22:00.000-06:002013-03-09T15:22:19.152-06:00On Grateful Dead and Golf I have to admit, I know very little about music. As someone who listens exclusively to the CBC radio on her iPod (yeah, I'm that lame), I find myself stumped at music lyrics which most people can belt out or recognize instantly. This is not to say that I am not musically inclined, it is just that when it comes to 'the classics,' I am not as well versed in knowing the band or song title.<br />
With that preamble complete, I will say that I was excited to be asked to make a birthday cake for a Grateful Dead fan. The concept of the band and their "Jerry Bears," with an album cover made my client super excited. It was decided that a painting of an album cover (below) and the Bears surrounding the cake would make a super exciting treat for the Band Fan Birthday Boy.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/gd03_zpsd8601788.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/gd03_zpsd8601788.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
The cake was created, rainbow (tie-dye) vanilla cake with white fondant covering. The design included one hand-painted topper (removable so you don't need to eat all that colour), and the dancing bears around the sides. The top of the cake was painted in Americolor gel colouring diluted with water. Some people have asked in the past how I paint... I don't use vodka as some do, but instead find that water, with a little white colour gel, works great!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/gd02_zps4f63e923.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/gd02_zps4f63e923.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/gd01_zps973695a2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/gd01_zps973695a2.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Of course, everything I do is free-handed. This cake was a 9-inch round with MMF, which some know as being a pain to paint on... some bleeding and sugar melting was inevitable.<br />
<br />
I think the best part of this cake, other than the amazing art which I was super happy to pull off, because let's face it.... often cake decorators try to take on projects that challenge them and that may or may not work in their execution, was the fact that I worked with a buddy (that was a run-on sentence! Fun to write, horrid to read, and I refuse to fix it! My inner English Major is screaming in silent protest). No, My friend came to help me to build a cake of her own, and to keep me company. Her husband's 37th birthday was today (yay!), and as a treat, I showed her how to create her own personalized cake. Since the birthday boy in this case is a golf aficionado, we decided to make a cute little golf cake...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/golf02_zps815e7a89.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/golf02_zps815e7a89.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/golf01_zps994acf09.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/golf01_zps994acf09.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Now, that's not too bad for someone who has never worked with fondant in her life. I had the cake prepped in advanced (dirty iced and good to go), and she iced, covered and decorated the cake all by herself.... well, with a little help, but it was mostly superficial! Super happy birthday to my friend! I hope you have a fabulous trip in Florida! What a great place to celebrate!<br />
<br />
Okay, time's up! See you soon!<br />

I have had no interest or inspiration in terms of creating decorated cookies. Maybe because of my icing woes (getting the icing to flow thought the tip without interruption... or maybe it's because I've been lazy (most likely option). Either way, cookies have not been given their due.<br />
<br />
So when LilaLoa decided to have a cookie photo challenge, I thought... this is my excuse! So, here I am with a cookie update. I decided to try something completely different in terms of cookie decorating. I have been known to paint on cookies, but mostly elaborate designs. I decided to try this with a more simple design...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/snow01_zps84b4c8be.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/snow01_zps84b4c8be.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
My challenge was to go out in the winter weather, braving cold temperatures, and adding the sparkly balls just popped the colours.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/snow02_zps843f9eee.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/snow03_zps6bd42671.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/snow03_zps6bd42671.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/snow04_zps5e27f162.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/snow04_zps5e27f162.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/snow02_zps843f9eee.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/snow02_zps843f9eee.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
So, overall I would say that painting a whole cookie is not as fun as decorating the whole cookie. I had done one more cookie pattern, but am going to save that one for later. I do like the lighting outside! Maybe when the weather is warmer, I shall endeavor do more frequently take my photos outside!<br />

Things have been busy in the Fort. Over the last little while I have been working hard on several creations (some unposted as of yet, sorry!).<br />
<br />
So, it is with great pleasure that I post this update! The Kellar Cake - a 50th wedding anniversary!<br />
Red-Velvet and Carrot Cake with Cream-Cheese buttercream, covered in MMF.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/kellar02_zpsedac203c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/kellar02_zpsedac203c.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/kellar03_zpsac2b156a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/kellar03_zpsac2b156a.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/kellar04_zps4766d1ed.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/kellar04_zps4766d1ed.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/Kellar01_zpsf1241632.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/Kellar01_zpsf1241632.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
And of course, my personal update. I don't like adding too much in the way of personal information. True, I have been known to post personal images and updates sporadically, but this one is totally worth doing. This year, my husband and I are celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary (not our 50th, I guess we are 1/10th there!). I say this year, but in truth, we were married on a leap-year (Feb 29th 2008) and only have celebrated one anniversary.... so if you count non-leap years it is five, if not, I guess we are 1.25/5 years. I suppose my husband's face says it all as I try on my dress for the last time.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/5YRS_zpsd45758d7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/5YRS_zpsd45758d7.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
What do people do with their dresses? Wreck them, store them for their
children who will never want to wear them.... Me. I decided to donate
mine. There is a great group in Thunder Bay that sends dresses to people
who cannot afford to buy them. I am very happy knowing my dress will
have a new life with someone! So... I tried it on. One thing I always
thought with my dress.... I AM BATMAN! <br />
<br />
Other silly things being done... a Quincy-hut outside of my house.... we've had a lot of snow! Two people can sit up or crouch in this beast! My husband says I can live in that, and he gets the house. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/snowbank01_zps4ca067ee.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/snowbank01_zps4ca067ee.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
And of course, after-school snowshoeing on the lake. What a wonderful way to enjoy where you live. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/snowshoe01_zps9a0a9615.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/snowshoe01_zps9a0a9615.jpg" /></a></div>

Sure, I do Pintrest, and play games online, but mostly, when I go online, I check one or two pages, see that they have not been updated (because I checked them earlier that day), and decide to spend my time elsewhere. My interest in the internet, including Blogging, has dropped off. Why is that? Is this an Internet-Depression? Have I become apathetic to the internet? Have I just decided to spend my time doing other pursuits (including baking, and not posting?! A faux-pas!) Whatever the reason, my creative juices don't seem to flow as naturally as they once did. And my attention span appears to be suffering this trouble as well.<br />
<br />
This epiphany came on the heels of posting up a new cake I created for a friend's son. His passion, and love, at this wonderful age, is Skylanders. You might recall, two years ago, I created a<a href="http://domesticsugar.blogspot.ca/2011/02/backyardigans-birthday-cake.html"> Pablo Backyardigans Cake</a> for the same little guy! Well, little this guy is not, and he's growing quick!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Birthday/skylanders04_zpsa17e5feb.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Birthday/skylanders04_zpsa17e5feb.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The birthday boy insisted I use his favorite characters, and he proudly whipped out Bouncer, Spyro, Tree-Rex and Jet-Vac, each one coming with a story about why he likes the characters. I must say, his favorite, Bouncer, the one in the center who looks like Iron-Man, was the coolest for me too! His dopy smile was amazing, and the warm praise he received from Zander was endearing!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Birthday/SKYLANDERS03_zps09107b8d.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Birthday/SKYLANDERS03_zps09107b8d.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
In addition to the cake, I made a special name plate which I painted using edible food colours. I also made a cookie with each of the elements on them.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Birthday/skylanders02_zpsddfc5f68.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Birthday/skylanders02_zpsddfc5f68.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Birthday/skylanders01_zpsef9c8435.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Birthday/skylanders01_zpsef9c8435.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
I think the best part of this cake was the simplicity of it. It has been a long time since I got to make a simple 9-inch round cake! Lately, calls have been in for elaborate designs and sugar flowers, which I love to do! But it was so nice to make something as easy as a round platform which I placed toys upon! I think this was the first cake that I was not asked to make the figurines! In fact, Zander insisted upon his own characters! How sweet! He was super happy to see it all together, and I was super happy to deliver such smiles. <br />

The ideas is solid! Choose something that you want to change in yourself or in your life, and make a strong effort to achieve that goal using the start of a new year as an excuse for a fresh start. You can... live better, eat clean, work harder, gain some kind of fame... etc.<br />
<br />
The trouble is every year, millions of people make the same resolution... lose weight. <br />
Ah YES! The infamous weight loss goal. The thing that is the hardest to do, and yet, the one that makes us feel better, Silly as it is.<br />
<br />
Yet... every year, I make it my goal! I want to look good!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Party%20Cookies/pinup09_zpsfd1e318d.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Party%20Cookies/pinup09_zpsfd1e318d.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
That is not to say that every year I vow to loose 20 pounds (which is hard.....), but I do try to do something... work on my Yoga skills, or try to get a 4-pack (not a 6.... I don't like the look), lift a heavier weight set. But every year it is something 'fitness' related. Let's face it.... we all want the same thing (maybe?).<br />
<br />
So, inspired by this double-edged sword of a resolution, I resolved to make pin-up cookies!<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Blonde: </span>Fun-loving<br />

<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></span></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Raven-Haired: <span style="font-size: small;">Adventurous </span></span><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
But is weight loss a silly resolution? Sometimes people just need an excuse to get off the couch! The best way to set the goal is to have a goal at the end. Try to avoid the pitfall of a scale.Weight fluctuates, and muscle does weigh more than fat!<br />
<br />
I like goals of time commitments (waking earlier to do an exercise - which is only hard until your body gets used to the routine), or a flexibility component, which takes time and practice. I am stubborn, and so should anyone be who has a resolution they want badly to achieve! And so far, beyond an injury I have, I have obtained my Resolutions!<br />
<br />
The truth is, whatever your resolution, just be sure to stay true to yourself. Change is never easy. Over the last 10 years, I have discovered that no matter what I resolve to change or to work at, I must always remain true to myself.<br />
<br />
So, whatever your personality or goals, I wish you luck! <br />
<br />
<br />

<br />
Oh! I almost forgot!<br />
<br />
As always, our town's annual Polar Plunge was going on.... And as always, My adventurous spirit was the perfect excuse to <span style="color: #3d85c6;">take the walk....</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Misc/sploosh01_zps044e2d2c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Misc/sploosh01_zps044e2d2c.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="color: #3d85c6;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"> Then the plunge!</span></span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Misc/sploosh_zpsae400e9f.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Misc/sploosh_zpsae400e9f.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
This year, the water was not as cold as previous years (or maybe it does not phase me as much)! But certainly, jumping into a hole cut in the ice is never an easy task. What a refreshing way to start the year!<br />
<br />
Happy New Year everyone!<br />

But, with all my heart, I wanted it to be perfect.<br />
<br />
So, with much fussing and playing, I managed to create a winter-themed cake with a rather large Poinsettia on top. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Wedding/dahlwed04_zps8dcd6768.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Wedding/dahlwed04_zps8dcd6768.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
With a little bit of a twist, this is an egg-nog cake with vanilla-bean buttercream. The cake is covered in MMF, and decorated with sugar flowers/snowflakes (a combo if you will). I had no time to order a snowflake plunger set this year. Rats! Maybe next...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Wedding/dahlwed03_zpsdc64ee90.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Wedding/dahlwed03_zpsdc64ee90.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Because the Poinsettia is so large, it actually dented to the top of the cake! I have never done a single flower on top, and was rather pleased with the off-set aesthetic of it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Wedding/dahlwed01_zpse477f53d.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Wedding/dahlwed01_zpse477f53d.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
And of course, this was a drop-in wedding, so Cupcakes make things a little more munchable! I was rather pleased all around.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Wedding/dahlwed02_zps11aeb8fb.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Wedding/dahlwed02_zps11aeb8fb.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
So, now I have some extra cake in the house... I wonder what I will use it to make next :)<br />
Happy New Year! <br />

We would buy one of those per-packaged kits which would come replete with icing, jujubes, and smarties. We would take a box, cut it, then line the base with tin-foil snow. After opening the candies, we (my siblings and I) were given specific instructions NOT TO EAT ANY OF THE CANDY.... Very stern!<br />
<br />
And thus it was that our gingerbread house was made, somewhat bi-yearly, and would sit on the end-tables, uneaten (under threat for any who dared eat it before Christmas - thanks Dad). And as the days would pass, the house would become harder, and harder, and it's candy decorations (specifically the smarties) would begin to disappear piece by piece, until the day, CHRISTMAS, when the house was deemed free to eat, and was so hard it had to be tossed... a waste of food, and time. Alas, this was not in vain; the memories lasted!<br />
<br />
And so it was that my gingerbread home tradition starts, in the dust of crumbled cookies past.<br />
<br />
<br />
This year, as some of you may have read, I moved into my new home. This newly-built paradise, on the shores of Rainy Lake, Ontario, has become my pride and joy. In a previous post, I showed off my <br />
kitchen and some other small quips about new-home ownership. Today, I wish to share with you all my Christmas Gingerbread Home (not a house, but a home).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Christmas/brokendreams03_zps072c269b.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Christmas/brokendreams03_zps072c269b.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Sadly, in my artistic vision, I did forget to post a door, and was stuck making a rather sad looking gingerbread bird house, but who is judging?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Christmas/brokendreams06_zpscc7e9978.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Christmas/brokendreams06_zpscc7e9978.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
The roof was inspired by a card design that I received.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Christmas/brokendreams04_zpsdef86c09.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Christmas/brokendreams08_zpsfd05ca07.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Christmas/brokendreams08_zpsfd05ca07.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
And of course, I could not simply make one Gingerbread house, I made several - I believe some 10 small ones or so....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Christmas/brokendreams04_zpsdef86c09.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Christmas/brokendreams04_zpsdef86c09.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
And the house? Well, It met with a somewhat orthodox ending on Christmas Eve.... my mother-in-law had some troubles smashing the little structure, but with some coaxing and a butterknife, she succeeded in felling the home.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Christmas/brokendreams01_zps49eb78db.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Christmas/brokendreams01_zps49eb78db.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
But, as always, Photos will live on. Here is a photo of the house on my sweets tower, prior to our House-Warming/ Yuletide /End-of-the-World party. Did anyone notice how the world DID NOT end? Did anyone thing otherwise? I was certainly glad it did not end!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Christmas/brokendreams07_zpsaf4d4ca1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Christmas/brokendreams07_zpsaf4d4ca1.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And, just to finish off... here is a close-up of the small Gingerbread houses... they were teeny-sized houses which fit on the end of cups. The idea was actually from <a href="http://www.notmartha.org/archives/2009/12/18/a-gingerbread-house-that-perches-on-the-rim-of-your-mug/">NotMartha.com</a>. If you ever find you have more time than you know what to do with, and you feel like being a Holly-Homemaker (Suzy?), check out the site. She has great ideas!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Christmas/brokendreams01_zps49eb78db.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Christmas/brokendreams05_zpsb5d74195.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Christmas/brokendreams05_zpsb5d74195.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
So, to close, here is a picture of my father-in-law sipping his morning coffee, eating gingerbread on Christmas. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Christmas/brokendreams02_zps3c744cf3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Christmas/brokendreams02_zps3c744cf3.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Merry Christmas everyone! I hope your Holidays were as relaxing as mine were!<br />
<br />

Peaking into my kitchen For all of my adult life, I have been dreaming of my kitchen. I pictured myself in my cute apron, whipping up batches of cookies and sweets for my husband, who comes in with the paper and sits down at the table just as I place the roast ham down next to the yams.<br />
<br />
That will never happen.<br />
<br />
First, my husband does not read the paper, as he is technologically inclined to download it instead, or check the online headlines.<br />
Next, he hates ham. I love it. He hates it... a dilemma if ever there was one.<br />
Finally, my husband loves to eat on the couch. True story.... no joke. Go figure!<br />
<br />
So, now that I have moved into my dream mansion on the lake, and my kitchen is oodles bigger than before, I get to live only parts of my dreams. At least I can share them with hubby. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Misc/dec1202.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Misc/dec1202.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
December always marks baking season for me. Every year I whip up hundreds (no literally, hundreds) of goodies to give away in tins and boxes to family and friends. The way I see it, people spend lots of money and time making dainties for people who drop in for a visit, so wouldn't it be nice to give out some of those dainties and save them time?<br />
No<br />
They eat them,<br />
They eat them as soon as they are given,<br />
And they are happy,<br />
Which is just as good.<br />
<br />
This year I had the pleasure of baking goodies with friends and family in my new home. If you did not know, this was the reason I had sparse posts and uninteresting pictures. I recently moved into my newly-built home on the shores of Rainy Lake. It is a gorgeous paradise. And my kitchen is about 5X bigger, without exaggeration from what I had before.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Misc/dec1201.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Misc/dec1201.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
It is so big, in fact, that I was able to have company over for a cookie decorating party (as seen above) which was super fun! I was also able to bake more than one batch of cookies for the dainty boxes, which is amazing! I have never had two batches baking in my double oven while the third batch chilled... HOW MUCH DID THAT BLOW MY MIND?!<br />
<br />
Here's my new paradise: <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Misc/dec1204.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Misc/dec1204.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
It is super hard to believe that it is perfect... except for a valance curtain (teal or yellow... I have yet to decide) the place is perfect. I even had a sign made for above the island.<br />
Je suis la propriétaire d'une patisserie!<br />
N'êtes-vous pas exciter? Non... mais, je suis laide.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Misc/59834c04423911e2ba2d22000a1f97cd_7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Misc/59834c04423911e2ba2d22000a1f97cd_7.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Misc/dec1203.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Misc/dec1203.jpg" />ç</a></div>
<br />
So, from my home to yours, Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays.<br />
<br />

Baking in my new home has been wonderful!<br />
<br />
In my last post, I showed you some pretty sugar cherry blossoms I had been working on...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/sugarflowers.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/sugarflowers.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Well, those flowers went to a cake I was making... One for my grandmother's 90th birthday party. The party was held in my home town, four hours away, so I had a lot of transportation woes... but ultimately, the cake turned out okay, for not having all my tools and tricks available.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/finalcake.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/finalcake.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Since I had to do a four hour commute for the celebration (YAY, grandma is totally worth it), I decided to pre-bake all cakes and cupcakes (a total of 90 of them), at home, then transport them and assemble everything at the church. Luckily for me the church had a lot of items at my disposal, and the ladies were super nice in helping me find all my gear. I had so many people watching me put it all together, which was funny, but I enjoyed it :) I don't usually get people interested in my caking.. my husband certainly finds it boring. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/sugarflowers02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/sugarflowers02.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I did all the sugar flowers at home too... I made two large stargazer lilies, one orchid, several cherry blossoms and about 30 blue flowers (bluebells?)... which are so tiny they just act as filler. The cake was gorgeous! As I have said before, my camera is no-go until my computer is up, but luckily my aunt had hers!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/grandma9001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/grandma9001.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
So, with only a few cupcakes at a time, we decorated the table.... The whole room was filled with cupcake-style decorations... including cupcake confetti!!! I ABSOLUTELY had so much fun running around with confetti screaming SPARKLE SPARKLE!!! My husband, who is used to such outbursts, just laughed, while my family looked a little confused... SPARKLES ARE AWESOME!! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/grandma9002.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/grandma9002.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
My next thing to do on my list is to put up my Christmas tree and to make my house all sparkly! I am guessing that will wait until next week, as my tummy is a little unhappy at the moment. Still, it was a great weekend!<br />
Cheers all!<br />

MAGIC! Well, I am in, and have been cleaning ever since (Newly built homes have a lot of dust!!). Needless to say it has been some time since my last update. It feels strange typing an update to what amounts to a personal journal or diary of baking, but here I am, out of habit, feeling a little guilty for not having posted anything recently!<br />
<br />
One of my biggest problems is that I do not have the ability to edit the photo sizes of my camera pictures, so while I have baked up a storm, I have been unable to actually take any good pictures. I decided that I would use my Instagram photos as a sort of update... So, here we go!<br />

My apologies! I'm close to moving into my new home, and have packed most of my baking gear. I am officially 17 days from moving!<br />
<br />
I did, however, manage to get some time to bake one last cake before the move. This cake was actually baked last weekend, but I've been too busy to post it up: <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/Barbie%20Cake/princesspopstar03_zps4aadb470.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/Barbie%20Cake/princesspopstar03_zps4aadb470.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
This cake is for Barbie: The Princess and the Popstar movie. The family requested something with sparkles, purple and pink. Well, what is Barbie about if not sparkles, purple and pink?! I tried to model the dress from the movie, but of course, it stops at the knees, so this is a longer version of it. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/Barbie%20Cake/princesspopstar02_zps9739dac7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/Barbie%20Cake/princesspopstar02_zps9739dac7.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
You may well remember my last <a href="http://domesticsugar.blogspot.com/2011/04/how-to-barbie-catwalk-cake-tutorial.html" target="_blank">Barbie Cake and the subsequent Tutorial</a>... I did much the same thing, but this 'dress' is a little puffier and has ruffles! I painted a little dotted pattern on the dress, which is MMF. <br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Question Insert::: How do you get the dress off of the doll?</b></span><br />
<br />
You want the short answer? You cut it off. This may seem like a horrible idea, but it is not. The doll itself has a dress that is <b>not</b> removable! That is the bottom line. The dress at the back has a small attachment (I believe this one was to a star). You need to take an exacto-knife and make a small slit up that hold, then will have to sew the dress later (when you give the doll for a gift) up with a snap-clip (a snapping button). While it seems crazy to buy a doll to cut up, little girls will want to play dress-up with the dolls, and removing and repairning the dress makes that possible. After the cake is done, and the doll is cleaned, you can re-attach the dress by buttoning it around that star. It will also make a cute gift to give the dress in a small gift-package on the side :)<br />
Hope that is helpful.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/Barbie%20Cake/princesspopstar01_zps91a36cdb.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/Barbie%20Cake/princesspopstar01_zps91a36cdb.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Okay, I hope that I can at least have one last cake before Halloween (our move-in date). I want to at least do my classic Halloween Head cake before it's time to move. We'll see though. Until then, thank you so much for all of your support! I am honored to see Domestic Sugar grow!<br />
<br />

I'm so mad I could eat my shirt!What a disappointment to have the 2012-2013 Hockey season cancelled!I love hockey!<br />
<br />
Ever since I was 8, My brother and I would play Nintendo's Blades of Steel. I was always my favorite team: the Penguins! (GO PENS GO)<br />
<br />
Of course, my favorite player was Mario Lemieux! He was dreamy with his curly black hair and pretty smile! I loved watching him play alongside the team! It was always a treat to watch hockey (in black and white) on my small 12" TV.<br />
<br />
This cake was made for a Pens fan: a little boy who is celebrating his birthday this week.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/penguins01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/penguins01.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Of course, the sleeve has the trademark number 66 - or Lemieux's number. ♥</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
While I think Crosby is a great player, he often plays up injuries (not the one that kept him out most of the season last year, but the in-game small hits). I apologize if that offends... it is simply my opinion.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/penguins03.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/penguins03.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am sure most of you remember that the Pens changed their logo (which turned out looking like a flying pigeon). The classic logo (Below) is my favorite!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I made it out of MMF, hand-painted with Americolors. Labors of love I guess!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/jersey02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/jersey02.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
So, I wait with baited breath for the next season. I hope that the NHL gets their stuff together, so we fans can enjoy the wonders of sport. I may have to take on Football!<br />
<br />

It never ceases to amaze me how this town lights up around this time of year. Children, parent, and families all move from their small town rural homes, and push into the bush to find something to 'choot.<br />
<br />
This week, I finally got a chance to make a cake for a hunter! Bill turned 40 this week! His family often encourage him with the wondrous red-necked words "'choot 'em!" Sadly, we have no gaters here up north, but the magic of "Swamp People" has certainly not missed it's mark on our population, so we turn to the deer to live out our dreams! BECAUSE THEY ARE DELICIOUS!!!<br />
<br />
<br />
Here is Bill:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/chootem04_zps54ec7677.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/chootem04_zps54ec7677.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
And here is his reason to want to 'choot anything:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/chootem05_zpsa4947ebd.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/chootem05_zpsa4947ebd.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>HEY, LOOK OVER THERE!! THE BIG 4-0 IS HIDING BEHIND THOSE BUSHES!!!</b></div>
<br />
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/chootem03_zpsd9c6f341.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/chootem03_zpsd9c6f341.jpg" /></a> <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
But seriously, this cake is a simple homage to aging hunters everywhere..... and while I forgot to paint the sugarpaste Bill's neck red (forgot, but wanted to), this cake represents the best of my hunting knowledge.... I had to Google Deer (I usually only eat them, not 'choot 'em), and My gun looks like a rocket launcher.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/chootem02_zpsba29023f.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/chootem02_zpsba29023f.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/chootem01_zps0bda094c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Cakes/chootem01_zps0bda094c.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
So next time you come down to Northern Ontario, look out for the bearded man with the rocket launcher, 'chooting deer in an attempt to dodge fate. Don't worry, around here, you're never too old to <strike>own a gun </strike>hunt! <br />

VERBS! (don't play with your food!)Well, it certainly has been a lag in posting lately, has it not!<br />
There have been othr projects that I have been working on. Getting a new job, a new home. Things certainly have been busy!<br />
<br />
The project was inspired by Pintrest. Our classroom is doing a grammar review called 'Angry Verbs' which takes angry birds and well, makes them into a teaching tool! Super fun! The kids have been enjoying the games associated.. and so, as a treat, I've made cookies! It has been some time since I've ventured to do so:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/angryb04.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/angryb04.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
My coworker swears she can hear the laughing pig. She was going around imitating it's silly laugh to my delight!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/angryb02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/angryb02.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
I of course like the yellow bird best.... his triangular shapes is adorable!!! While I don't fully understand the appeal of the game (and am probably the only one who is oblivious to its charms), the kids enjoy it greatly! The part that most appeals to me are the graphics. The adorable looks, grins, and colours make it a sweet game!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/angryb01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/angryb01.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
And of course, I like to play with my food!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/angryb03.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Family/angryb03.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
I have a few projects I will be working on in the coming days.... let's hope I can get back to work with little issue!<br />
<br />
Of course, here is my board!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Hey! Me again!<br />
<br />
For my cakes, I like to add small details which add height and sparkle, so my Sugar Butterflies have become a hit! Here's a tutorial on how to make your own Sugar Butterflies:<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://domesticsugar.blogspot.ca/2012/04/butterfly-flower-birthday-cake.html" target="_blank"> (Flower Garden Cake)</a></div>
<br />
As in all my tutorials, I try to keep the materials simple. In the tutorial I use a ball tool and a foam mat to ruffle the edges of my butterfly; you can skip this step and just do a flat butterfly! As always, work with what you have! You can substitute the ball tool for a toothpick and roll the edges of the toothpick on the butterfly's wings..... <br />
<br />
<b>What you need:</b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Tutorial/butterflytut01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Tutorial/butterflytut01.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<ol>
<li>Sugarpaste/Gumpaste</li>
<li>Butterfly Cookie Cutter</li>
<li>Rolling Pin</li>
<li>Ball tool (optional)</li>
<li>Foam Mat (optional)</li>
<li>Dowel</li>
<li>Food Color (gel kind like Americolor)</li>
<li>Water</li>
<li>Paintbrush</li>
</ol>
<br />
<br />
<b>Step 1</b>:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Tutorial/butterflytut02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Tutorial/butterflytut02.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Roll out the gumpaste. You will want it to be fairly thin, maybe 2mm thick or so. Using your favorite butterfly cutter, cut out the shape of the butterfly.<br />
<br />
<b>Step 2: </b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Tutorial/butterflytut03.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Tutorial/butterflytut03.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Using a ball tool, thin out the edges of your butterfly's wings to give the wings that whimsical look. I try to spread the butterfly's wings, and leave the body thick. This will be important when you dowel your butterfly.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Tutorial/butterflytut04.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Tutorial/butterflytut04.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
As you can see, the spread butterfly is larger than the cutter. This is important! Your butterfly should be wider and longer than the original cut out for when you have to put the backing on him.<br />
<br />
<b>Step 3:</b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Tutorial/butterflytut05.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Tutorial/butterflytut05.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Now, take your thin dowel and lay it down the center of the butterfly's body on the underside. Allow the butterflies to dry in this way (Overnight, or 8hours)<br />
<br />
<b>Step 4:</b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Tutorial/butterflytut06.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Tutorial/butterflytut06.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
When your butterfly is nice and hard, carefully remove him and put it upside down. Roll our another butterfly to be the backing. To secure him, simply add a little water to the backside of your butterfly, then apply. Again, allow time to dry. I try to make sure the 'head' of the butterfly is sealed well, and make sure the dowel does not poke through the top of the piece. By creating a dome on the top, the stick will have something more to keep it in place.<br />
<br />
Antenna: At this time, you can choose to place antenna into the butterfly. Simply use a floral stamen (optional, found at a craft store) in the top between the two layers. When it dries, they will be secure.<br />
<br />
<b>Step 5:</b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Tutorial/butterflytut07.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Tutorial/butterflytut07.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Now for the sun part: DECORATING! Taking your gel paste food color, water it down, and paint the edges and body of the butterfly. Keep in mind that the as the butterfly dries, the shininess of the 'paint' will dull. No worries! <br />
<br />
<b>Step 6: </b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Tutorial/butterflytut08.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Tutorial/butterflytut08.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Depending on your pattern, you can paint the inside any way you wish. For this one, I decided to make a Monarch butterfly, so I painted the 'cell' veins through the body. Once the black is done, allow time to dry (10 min?).<br />
<br />
<b>Step 7:</b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Tutorial/butterflytut09.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Tutorial/butterflytut09.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Now, when the black color is dry (this is tacky, as you can see), paint in the color. You can choose to fill all the cells, or just one or two for a stained-glass look. The Flower Garden Cake had purple gumpaste with a few cells painted. <br />
<br />
<b>Step 8:</b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Tutorial/butterflytut10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Tutorial/butterflytut10.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Add a contrasting colour to the edges of the butterfly....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Tutorial/butterflytut11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Tutorial/butterflytut11.jpg" /></a></div>
<span id="goog_387778855"></span><a href="http://www.blogger.com/"></a><span id="goog_387778856"></span><br />
<span id="goog_387778855">Blend the colors together with a clean, lightly dampened paintbrush. You can add in the darker black if you wish by swishing it with the paintbrush.</span><span id="goog_387778856"></span><br />
<br />
<b>Step 9:</b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Tutorial/butterflytut12.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Tutorial/butterflytut12.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Allow time for the fully coloured butterfly to dry. If you wish, you can paint the stick the colour of the cake (for instance, I have painted them black/white before). You can even add stripes or polka-dots to the stick to give them character.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Tutorial/butterflytut13.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Tutorial/butterflytut13.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here are the to I used on Linda's <a href="http://domesticsugar.blogspot.ca/2012/08/pink-wedding.html" target="_blank">Pink Wedding Cake</a>. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now You too can make Butterflies! HURRAY! </div>

Pink and Fuchsia were the colours, and boy did they fit the bride and groom! The spread included on two tier cake (with Polka-dots), one Ice-creme cone cake, and one <a href="http://domesticsugar.blogspot.com/2011/07/gluten-free-almond-orange-cake.html" target="_blank">gluten-free orange-almond cake</a>. I was super happy to pull myself out of my baking funk, and to get to work on a real project!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Wedding/linda02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Wedding/linda02.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The cake included small sugar flowers and sugar butterflies! I loved the cake flavors she choose. The top tier is Chocolate, the bottom, Lemon.... In the other cake, almond and then strawberry. FUN! I love the not-so-basic flavors!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Wedding/linda04.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Wedding/linda04.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
The whole room was decorated in pink bows and white tulle. I loved the bride. Her bubbly personality and cute babushka to hide her hair from her husband was just adorable!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Wedding/linda01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Wedding/linda01.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Wedding/linda03.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h446/bake_shop/Wedding/linda03.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
So, I now have two tutorials to post as a result! I guess you'll have to check back later to see what they will be :)<br />
